Prelude: Installing on Microsoft Vista
Before you install the software on a machine running the Microsoft Vista operating system, it is paramount that the user account you are installing the software with has Full Administrative privileges on the machine. In fact, to avoid any possible issues, it is recommended that the program is installed by the Administrator account. In certain versions of Microsoft Vista, the Administrator account is locked or not seen. To enable this account please contact your network administrator or, if it is a personal PC or laptop, follow the instructions below:
Enable Built-in Administrator Account
First, you'll need to open a command prompt in administrator mode by right-clicking and choosing "Run as administrator" (or use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter shortcut from the search box).
Now type the following command:
net user administrator /active:yes
You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you'll now see the Administrator account as a choice.
You'll note that there's no password for this account, so if you want to leave it enabled you should change the password.
This will then allow you to log on to your computer with the Administrator Account. You should then be able to install the software without any issues. Once installed you can log on to your local user account and then be able to create a shortcut to the program.
