If you right-click in any of the date fields in Diamond, you will be presented with a list of helpful functions which can auto-populate the field with today's date or the date at the beginning or end the month, etc.
The first item on this list is the Calendar option. To enable ease of input, this will allow you to scroll through and select any date from a graphical calendar.
