10 DIY Tips for Optimising Your Website

There is so much information out there about optimising a site for the search engines that sometimes you can’t see the wood for the trees. Much of this is in the form of Top Ten Lists, so we’ve decided to add our own.
- Optimise your site as much as possible without spamming; use keyword-rich content but don’t overdo it (your site is the only thing you have complete control over)

Because of the way Google’s Page Rank system works, the more trusted links into your site the better the overall position when your site matches the search terms.
Think of the online directories and make sure you have an accurate description and a link. Also, be free to write articles for online journals. Finally, be active on the forums and answer questions meaningfully.
Links in these places can generate the credibility you will require to start climbing up the results within Google and the other Search Engines.
