The conference was opened by Diamond’s operations Director Harold Phillips who welcomed delegates to the Belfry.
Sales Director John Surridge presented the first session when he recapped on the progress since last year’s conference and outlined plans for the coming twelve months.
Dr Ian Vickers, Managing Director, then outlined the benefits and amazing success of Diamond Discovery Online.
John Surridge brought the morning session to a close with a relative in-depth look at the benefits of using Diamond Discovery compared to other leading software providers.
After lunch, sessions were presented by three guest speakers.
Jack Doherty from CPA (PAID) Ltd outlined his company’s role in managing your sales ledger: from providing information about clients or prospective clients, effective credit control and insurance against bad debts.
Wyse Leasing’s Regional Manager John Burton spoke on the many benefits to both reseller and customer of leasing software. Wyse Leasing provides a range of flexible finance solutions to organisations in both the public and private sectors throughout the UK.
The final guest was from one of the country’s leading suppliers of EPOS equipment, DED Limited from Lydd in Kent. Sales Manager Gordon Atkins gave an enthusiastic demonstration of touch screens, printers, scanners and hand-held data capture units, all of which can integrate directly with Diamond Discovery’s ledgers in real time. Gordon was ably assisted by Wendy Eldred of printer manufacturer Star Micronics.
After a lively debate in the open forum session Harold Phillips gave his positive thoughts on the current economic climate and his philosophy on not selling accounting software but providing business solutions.
Finally Diamond Discovery’s MD Dr Ian Vickers thanked everybody for attending and also extended his thanks to the staff at the Belfry for all their willing help and for providing a superb lunch.
