Annual Leave Entitlement
February 2009
From 1 April 2009, the statutory minimum paid annual leave entitlement will rise from 24 days to 28 days for those working a five-day week.
- This means that all workers will be entitled to annual leave at 5.6 times their usual working week - capped at 28 days.
- You can include time off for bank and public holidays in the entitlement.
- In most cases, you can no longer replace leave with a payment in lieu, even if a worker requests it.
- If both you and a worker agree to the arrangement, you will be allowed to carry over to the following year some or all of the additional holiday.
